TEN BY SIX
“The performances were a treat to watch, and the musical score has some tunes that are catchy and highly listenable.”
Telegram & Gazette Worcester Richard Duckett
“Richard Kinter’s send-up on turn-of-the-century temperance plays has it all. It’s a knee-slapping, horns-honking, sirens-wailing free-for-all that winds up Foothills Theatre’s 20th anniversary season in fine style. This is an amusing and at times hilarious production.”
Worcester, Mass Clare Karis
“Laughs galore and entertainment in full measure await those who venture forth to see “Ten by six.”
By Pat Garrity (Daily News)
“A uniquely enjoyable form of entertainment has come this way in the guise of Ten by Six… witty songs cause laughs to dominate… the acting ensemble of six bubbles with effervescence…this troupe of actors from New York city plays superbly…”
The Berkshire Eagle Jennifer Davies
“the show is a swift and ridiculous tale of the evils of drink….there’s a kind of Mel Brooks inspiration to the musical jokes…a splendidly acted evening…”
Springfield Daily News Tom Hart
“is so laugh provoking fastly paced and such pure entertainment that you won’t forget your evening for some time.”
The Dalton News- record Jim Hoskins
“A charming conceit has been used by creator Richard Kinter to reshape “Ten Nights in a Barroom” into a musical tour of 19th Century American theatre. In Ten By 6 composer/lyricist/librettist Kinter has placed “Ten Nights” in the hands of a rag-tag troupe of actors somewhere in rural U.S.A. circa 1850. Though the selection from the repertory for this night’s show calls for a cast of 18, the 5 stalwart performers- with the help of the stable boy will perform all the parts. Both the players and their play-within-the-play sustain an endearing sense of Americana and theatre tradition.
