THE SECRET TREASURE ROOM May the Children’s Theater Board forgive me for saying but “Secret Treasure Room” is almost too good for children. It interested me all the through. The feeling was a result of skillful acting, inventive directing and imaginative writing, all of which made of Washington Irving’s tale a story of comedy, intrigue and adventure that would be hard to beat in any medium. The plot was intricate, but it sustained one’s interest. I was particularly delighted to note that neither script nor players “talked down” to the young audience Dialogue was on a decently adult level. |
